Practice Team

Our Practice team consists of a Practice Manager, Secretarial and Admin Staff, Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants. Attached to the Practice there are Health Visitors, District Nurses and a Midwife.

Practice Manager

Our Practice Manager, is responsible for the running of the Practice and is able to help you with any questions you may have concerning non-medical aspects of the Practice.

Secretaries

Our Secretaries are responsible for processing all correspondence. Please contact the Secretaries if you have any queries regarding hospital referral letters.

Receptionists

Our Receptionists are here to help you and, also, to help the Practice run smoothly. Sometimes, they may need to ask you personal questions. If you wish to speak to a Receptionist, privately, away from the Reception area, please ask to do so. All information is treated in the strictest confidence. Please remember, the Receptionists are only acting on the Doctor's instructions. Personal Information will not be given out to anyone other than the patient concerned unless the patient provides us with written consent.

Practice Nurses

Our Practice Nurses work on a pre-bookable appointments system. They provide a comprehensive nursing service for all categories of patients, ie those with coronary heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, asthma, as well as smoking cessation advice, new patient health reviews, cervical smears, well man/well woman screening, suture removal/dressings, ear syringing, childhood vaccinations, travel vaccinations/travel advice and general advice.

If you have an appointment with the nurse and cannot attend, please remember to inform the Surgery. Failure to do so may result in removal from the practice list.

If you wish to speak to a Practice Nurse, please telephone between 3.30pm to 4.00pm, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (Far Lane) and 3.30pm to 4.00pm Tuesday (Trafalgar House).

Health Care Assistant

Our in house Health Care Assistant offers in house phlebotomy, NHS Health Checks, Lifestyle Advise, BP monitoring and basic wound management.

Midwife

Community midwives hold weekly clinics in local community centres. If you have just found out you are pregnant you do not have to see a GP, just book an appointment to see the midwife with our practice receptionists.

Your first appointment with be 1 hour long, so that the midwife can arrange your scans and check everything is ok.

First Contact Physiotherapist

For any musculoskeletal problems, aches and pains please book in directly with our reception team to see our new in house physiotherapist. You will be fully assessed and any appropriate referrals or investigations will be made by the physio directly.

Social Prescriber/Health Link Worker

For any problems relating to emotional wellbeing, healthy lifestyle, physical activity, social networks, family and parenting, employment and welfare and benefits please book in directly with our reception team to see our new in house social prescriber. Our social prescriber can help you in many ways and help navigate you to the correct service that will benefit you the most.
